How we work
Editorial Policy
How Lynbu researches, tests, writes, and reviews its travel guides — accurately, usefully, and independently.
Last updated: June 12, 2026
Trust is the only thing that makes a travel publication worth reading. This page explains how we research, write, test, review, and maintain everything on Lynbu — and how we keep our guides accurate, useful, and independent.
How we choose what to cover
We write about the things real travellers actually need: where to go and why, how to plan without the overwhelm, how to stay safe and healthy, how to travel further on less, and how to experience a place beyond its postcards. Ideas come from our own trips, reader questions, and the problems we see people wrestle with again and again. We do not chase trends or fear for traffic's sake.
How we research and test
Every guide is written or edited by a named member of our team with relevant experience of the topic or destination. Where we can, we draw on first-hand travel — places we've been, routes we've taken, and gear we've actually used. We rely on primary, credible sources — official tourism boards, government travel advisories, transport operators, and venue sites — rather than recycling other blogs. Facts that change, such as prices, hours, and entry rules, are presented with a clear reminder to verify them, because we know they move fast.
Reader-first independence
We hold every draft to a simple standard: would this genuinely help a traveller make a better trip? Lynbu is funded by advertising and, occasionally, affiliate links, and we protect your trust with firm rules:
- We never accept payment to praise a destination, hotel, tour, or product. There is no pay-for-praise and no pay-for-placement in our editorial content.
- Advertising is always clearly distinguishable from articles.
- Affiliate relationships never change our verdict or what we recommend — see our disclaimer for the full disclosure.
- If we ever receive a press trip, comped stay, or sample, we evaluate it on the same honest terms and disclose it; acceptance never buys a positive write-up.
Accuracy and corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and travel details go stale even faster — so when we do, we fix them quickly and transparently. If you spot an error or something that has changed, email hello@lynbu.com or use our contact form. Substantive corrections are noted on the guide.
Our use of AI tools
Our guides are written and edited by people. We may use software for spell-checking, research, or suggesting outlines, but a human writer is responsible for the substance, accuracy, and final wording of everything we publish. We do not publish auto-generated content.
Updates
Because prices, routes, and rules evolve, we revisit popular guides and refresh them. When a piece is meaningfully updated, the publication date reflects the most recent revision.
